Kelty will donate $1 to National Wildlife Federation for each new for 2008 Junior backpack purchased
BOULDER, COLO. (For Immediate Release) – Outdoor gear innovator Kelty is proud to announce the launch of new partnership program with National Wildlife Federation (NWF).
For each 2008 Kelty Junior backpack sold between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009, Kelty will donate $1 to help support NWF’s efforts to connect people to nature. In return, National Wildlife Federation will reward purchasers of a Kelty Junior pack with three complimentary issues of Ranger Rick, NWF’s award-winning children’s nature magazine.
“We’re very excited to be working with such a committed organization, supporting a very worthwhile cause,” said Kenny Ballard, president of Kelty. “We see protecting wildlife and wild places as one of the keys to keeping future generations engaged in a healthy outdoor lifestyle, and connecting with kids is one of the best ways to encourage future interest in environmental protection.”
Founded in 1936, National Wildlife Federation is America’s largest conservation organization with over four million members, volunteers and supporters. NWF’s mission is to inspire Americans to protect wildlife for our children’s future.
‘Connecting People To Nature’ is an NWF initiative designed to reverse nature deficit and build a mainstream movement of wildlife advocates through programs that get people outdoors while providing wildlife-based reading and education activities to parents, children, schools, and community groups.
Ranger Rick magazine one of three award-winning titles published monthly by NWF and winner of the 2008 Parents Choice Awards as well as a finalist for AEP’s Golden Lamp Award for excellence for educational journalism. From ocean floors to mountain tops, from Arctic ice flows to tropical jungles, Ranger Rick draws elementary-school kids into eager, active learning about animals, nature, ecology, science mysteries and more.
“Teaming up with Kelty, a company already committed to promoting an active outdoor lifestyle, is a fantastic way to help spread our message of wildlife advocacy,” said Tony Summers, Director of Cause Marketing for National Wildlife Federation. “Putting Ranger Rick directly in the hands of Kelty customers is a great way to start creating environmental and wildlife awareness with the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.”
Kelty’s line of Junior packs has been completely revitalized for the Fall 2008 back to school season with the addition of two brand new packs, updated designs and fun graphics. The Kelty Junior pack line includes the Starfish, Urchin, Itty, Grommet, and Minnow.
