Who knows why Kelty thought its lantern/spotlight needed a speaker on the back, but who cares?  Now you can see in the dark and party while you're there.  The speaker isn't a sound system so don't expect it to sound like Dolby, but for some ambient music around the dinner table while you're camping, it's ideal.  There's also a setting that changes the color of the light for disco dance parties or keeps each color constant for mood lighting.
