I bought this last year to bring on a backpacking trip. It is a bit heavy for such a use (4 AA's), but it was great to have. I would set it up at night to add some light to the camp, placed it in the middle of the group during discussions and games, and then in our tarp as we all hunkered down for the night. It is one of my favorite pieces of gear. The batteries are lasting as long as my headlamp. No complaints.

love this little LED lantern! have used it now for 2 car camping trips and at the park on July 4th waiting for fireworks, and it gives the perfect amount of light for moving about the campsite, and for prepping food/cleaning up in the dark. I really like the low setting since we could use it in the tent without waking the kids. also, I like the look, modern, sleek, and the metal ribs protect from scratching. this lantern so far has held up wonderfully to all the abuse my 2 year old gives it and it still looks brand new!
