Love this tent! I took it out for a trail run this weekend and was amazed at how quickly set up went. I am 58 years old and have not camped in almost 30 years. I was by mysel as my husband couldn't go and I had this baby up in under ten minutes.

I've used many tents. This one corners the market for car camping. It is very waterproof but well ventilated for reducing condensation. It is roomy and well built. The gear ledge is very functional and with it installed there is still plenty of headroom. I love this tent and would recommend it to anyone. Most bang for you buck in a 3 season 3-4 person tent. The full rain-fly works well in the PNW continuous light drizzle. Setup is great with clips and no sleeves. I looked for all these qualities in a tent and this one had it all. I can't say enough. Get one and you won't be sorry.

Let me start by saying I work in the outdoor industry at a technical outfitter. I am exposed to the very best of the best that the industry has to offer on a daily basis. I purchased this tent for a few reasons...
1. Price. You can spend hundreds more on a tent of comparable features and weight, performance, etc. Why? The name? Save yourself some money and get this tent.
2. Full rain fly. I purchased this tent for my family for the express purpose of car camping. I have two small children (under 3) and our first trip with the tent was VERY wet. It rained for 5 straight days and the temp dipped to freezing for multiple nights. We stayed bone dry and had plenty of head room for changing...not standing. Being a person with extensive backcountry experience, I know how important it is to stay dry. It was cold and wet and my kids were warm and dry...thank you, Kelty.
3. Clips! There are no sleeves to put the poles through! If you have the option to get a tent with no sleeves, then do it! It started raining when we got to our campsite and setup was so quick and easy because of the clips. We had it up in 90 seconds. No sleeves...no problems.
4. I wanted to give Kelty a chance over "high end" brands because the prices being charged for comparable tents is ridiculous.
Many in the outdoor industry would tell you that Kelty isn't "the best" brand. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it is the best, and I'm not saying it isn't. There are sooo many "brand snobs" out there so be careful and don't get talked into something you don't actually need.
Bottom line... this is a great tent for car camping enthusiasts or if you're going to use it as a base camp shelter for multiple days and day hike from a centralized location. Get it...you won't be sorry.
Don't forget the footprint! It will save the bottom of your tent and is a needed moisture barrier!
