Description
Spend less time setting up camp and more time relaxing with family and friends with the AirPitch™ Mach 6 tent. Featuring Kelty’s inflatable AirPoles, this extra-large shelter pitches in under a minute with an included pump. Unlike traditional poles, AirPoles are able to resist bending and breaking. An integrated, fully-vented rainfly requires no additional assembly while a cavernous, zippered vestibule provides ample storage and a protected, floorless space to escape the weather. Two separate “sleep rooms” are removable for added versatility. And when it’s time to go home, just pull the plug and the AirPitch™ takes itself down.

This was our first tent for camping with the family after years of experience with shock pole tents. We were attracted to the ease of setup feature of the airpoles and did not need extreme weather protection. Upon setup, we found the Mach 6 to be floppy and asymmetrical even after adjusting the stakeouts for some tension. The airpoles kinked on both sides at the same location close to the ground. A 5 minute sunshower of no particular intensity was enough to collapse one side of the canopy and soak our sleeping bags. This turned the interior into a sauna as the integrated rain fly prevents decent ventilation even with all the vents open. The tent stakes are of the lowest possible quality with sharp burrs from unfinished machine cuts on the end that is not meant to be pointy. Do not look for the pressure gauge that is present in the pictures/video or be fooled by the instruction not to inflate over 6psi. There is no pressure gauge included with this tent (or provision to use any type of standard gauge). Clips for the interior mesh panels are extremely difficult to latch/unlatch. When I called Product Support to ask for advice about the kinked airpoles issue, they asked 3 or 4 times if the tent was setup on an incline and then promised to have a Product Specialist contact me and possibly send the tent back to check for defects. Kelty never followed through with this contact. Presently, the Mach 6 collects dust in the garage. My 2 year old is getting some use out of the airpitch pump as a pretend fire extinguisher.
