I really want to love this tent and when it is dry outside it is fantastic. Sure it gets a little stuffy inside the “rooms” but it’s nice to keep a bit warm on cool summer nights in the mountains. The biggest drawback(s) are that the tent first does not just inflate like they show in the pictures, it’s every bit as time consuming if not more than a conventional tent and secondly the vestibule pools water and if enough water gets in there the tent will collapse on itself. There needs to be a center brace to ensure water sheets off the tent middle section. We’ve resorted to basically putting a pole that props this section up a bit if we are leaving the campsite for a hike and at night so it won’t collapse. There are many reviews with the same issue so I’m not the only one with problems. My next item I’m going to do, since this is such an expensive tent and I don’t want to throw the money out, is have some tent pole pockets sewn into the top of the tent and place some poles in this section to support the center of the tent. This is a 4.5 star tent (minus .5 stars for the stuffiness) in dry weather and a 0 star tent in wet weather.

This is the most poorly designed tent I have ever seen. It is huge however broken into two small rooms and a open floorless space. I bought it last year and didn't use it until this summer. By then it was too late to return. I have only used twice. The first time took about 40 minutes to set it up. The second time the tent deflated after a day. When I attempted to re-inflate the supports, one of them burst. We have had good luck with Kelty tents in the past but this one is terrible. Don't buy it you will be sorry.******** Update. Kelty customer service is great. They have replaced my tent with a conventional model because they want to make sure their customers are satisfied. It is nice to see a company stand behind their products. I am changing my rating from one star to three stars on this tent due to their customer service. There customer service is five stars for certain.

The first time you set the Mach 6 up, it definitely requires reading the instructions and watching some online videos. But, once you figure it out, it does set up very quickly. For our family, we love the two rooms and having the middle space available for gear without dealing with a tent floor to get all messy. Works awesome for the dog too! The only downside is that it completely collapses if you happen to end up in a snow or hail storm. It bounces back when the weight is off, but not great if you are IN the tent when weather comes in!

Absolutely love this tent. Everything about it is great, fast set up and take down and air "poles" hold the tent up great in the wind and elements .

When I heard that I could have a tent with zero poles, I was sold. The biggest challenge for me was to decide which size to get. We ended up getting the Mach 6 because of the two separate rooms. For us, it made sense to give our daughter her own space to have with her friend... while my husband and I set up camp in our own area. And our two dogs happily made their beds in the middle room. Note that this is a big tent. If you are setting up in your typical car camping area, this tent will take up at least half of your area. (Our tent was almost twice the size of our friend's tent) But, when it started raining... our tent became the place to be with it's spacious rooms. The only thing to note is that the center room is not sealed from the environment so ants/bugs can easily access it. We made the mistake of keeping some food items in this area. (Lesson learned!) Be sure you have your tent staked before pumping air into your supports. This will ensure that your tent blows up perfectly into place. If you're looking for a roomy tent that is easy to set up, this is the tent for you. Keep in mind that the broken down size of the tent is about the size of a medium duffel bag so if you're limited on space in your car, you may want to opt for the smaller tent.

This tent was a bit intimidating the first time we set it up, but we have since fell in love with it! It's easy to set up, easy to take down and very comfortable for a family. It has an open floor in the center that I imagine would be great for camping with dogs. I give it only 4 stars because it was too large for the designated tent sites in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. If you have the room to set it up, then its an awesome tent!

This is a good tent for a large family or someone looking to store gear with protection from the elements. I have set it up at least 5 times since getting it and each time it gets a bit easier. I think it is a bit 'floppy' while trying to establish where the corners are to start the set up process. Also, as others stated, the zippers get very tight and feel like they will bust at times. The vestibule does have an issue with 'pooling' water during heavy rains, however I have camped through two separate significant (greater than an inch) downfalls and stayed relatively dry. Ventilation could be better, but I take a fan and set it up in the vestibule (if electric is available). The bag makes for a tight fit when putting the tent away, perhaps it could be a bit bigger. The Airpoles are great! I was timid at first, but these things are solid. All in all, this is a great tent for car camping with the family.

For a large tent, the airpitch is easy to setup. Once in place, this thing is great. With removable vestibules you can customize it to virtually any scenario. Prior to my first trip, I didn't have time to test the tents water repelling abilities. However, a fairly severe shower struck on the second night and alas, not a drop made it through. Ventilation is a little sparse for a humid climate, but overall the airpitch 6 is a good tent fr families or people with a lot of equipment. Pros: ease of setup, durable air poles instead of breakable traditional poles, and customizable room arrangements. Cons: very large in the bag, limited ventilation, lots of tiedowns.

This tent set up in a real quick way the first time I set it up (although it was only in my back yard). We have used it several times in our backyard with the kids and they love it as much as we do. It made things fun and exciting for my daughters to have "their own" area in one of the sleep rooms. We got the ground sheet it (as someone else actually commented on) it helped A LOT the first couple times. Having the vestibule is a great space and provides comfort with having our equipment "inside" the tent with us, but not in the way inside the sleeping areas. Plenty of space inside the tent to stand up (I am 5'10) and move around without stepping on our bags or gear. I would recommend this tent for anyone who wants to take advantage of the 2 sleep areas and keep their equipment inside the tent, but not on top of your sleeping bag.

If you’re looking for a large family tent that can be set up by one person in a reasonable amount of time, will take the same kind of punishment that your kids extract on their bedrooms (minus sharp objects) and remain standing, then this is the tent for you. I guided overnight river trips for years and I can confidently say that I'm no stranger to 6 person plus tents, few of which could easily be set up by one individual at least not without scaring the daylights out of the anticipated occupants. Do not inflate the airpoles without first staking the tent down. If you do so, you will likely be writing a 2 star review of said tent, so follow the instructions. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 because this tent is so large and has the built-in rainfly that is not easily removed so it takes a lot of space to dry out once you get home. I don’t have a big enough yard or room to set it up or hang it, so there’s the rub; otherwise it is a great car camping family tent.

I ordered this tent because of its large size, three compartments, and relatively light weight. I used it twice so far and I am generally pleased. The space is outstanding. However, I have noticed a few drawbacks... the first tent they sent me had a hole on one of the airpoles, which makes me suspect. Thankfully Kelty was AWESOME about a quick exchange, I was back in business in no time. The first set up was frustrating, I found it difficult to navigate the orientation. After doing once, it went smoother next time. The number of guy lines is overwhelming, I experimented with omitting some but that created slack in the shell. I also found that cinching the lines down was the best way to keep the tent tight, but created bagginess around the base. I may need to experiment a little more. Repacking the tent proved to be a difficult task, especially if you want to pack the pump in the bag too. Again, practice will most likely improve efficiency, but its worth mentioning.

Love the tent. Love the vestibule. I recommend watching the video for set up before your first time and following the instructions 'cause it's super easy to set up provided you follow the steps. More importantly buy the ground sheet cause it sets up the template for a quick and easy set-up. The instructions could be more informative. For example the ground sheet loops are color coded to match the tent so you know you're setting it up right. Don't set up your tent with easily distracted teenagers. It just takes longer. I bought the Mach 4 as well and will be writing the same review. With the Mach 4 I bought the ground sheet. Lesson learned. Cool thing about the vestibule is that if you're on grass it's a cool floor - grass - between the chambers... love it.

I set up the Mach 6 for the first time last week with out staking the tent out first. Don't do this. Make sure to read over the instructions first or else you could jeopardize your air poles. Once I figured this out it was smooth sailing from there. The poles pumped up with no problem and the tent was amazingly firm and stable. Once I guyed it out it was just as solid if not more stable then any traditional metal pole tent. My twin 2 year old girls loved it! They chased each other round and round and bounced of the walls like it was a bounce house. This tent is awesome!

It's very quick and easy to set up. I used it for multiple days and it is very roomy and durable. The air poles were a concern but it stormed on my trip accompanied by high winds and the tent never budged. I was a good buy.

We haven't had the chance to take this camping other than the backyard. But we love this tent! The set up is very quick and easy. We chose to get the floor and that was a great addition. The only problem we have had was getting all the air out of the poles which, in turn, made it difficult to roll back up and get back in the bag. But we will keep trying! And it was very roomy, enough for 2 adults with 2 babies and all that gear! Can't wait to take this to the mountains in the fall!

Just went camping with my wife and 3 year old. Tent was great, easy for one person to set up so the other could keep the little one occupied, it rained for 2 days and everything stayed pretty dry, One nice add on would be a overhang over the door, when we would zip and unzip and go in the door we would get a little water falling through. Also I'm 6'6 and there was plenty of stand up room in the tent.

I've had this tent set up about 4 times in my backyard and once on an actual 2 night camping trip. The overall size of the tent with the vestibule is very large but inflates very quickly with the air poles. Since it is so large, it does take some time to tie out all the guylines. Ventilation within the tent is ok. I've had problems with the zippers for the main door and both of the interior tent compartments. When zipping, I get to a certain point and it feels as though the zipper is going to split. I not sure if the reason is because the guylines are too tight but I'm still experimenting with the proper tightness. Another concern I have is pooling of rain over the center vestibule. I've had this in some rain and it's been fine. I haven't had it in very heavy rain and am concerned that water may pool on the roof over the vestibule. When you open the door during rain, water does roll off the roof and into the vestibule area. Overall, I do enjoy this tent for what it is which is a solid car camping tent. I still need time to fool around with some adjustments which would then make this tent 5 stars instead of 3.

Love the size and headroom of this tent. First time use it was hard to figure out where the bottom was and where to stake it out, I ended up scratching the mesh windows a bit. Also it is hard to pack back into the the storage bag, they should have made it larger for easy packing. But after that, it is a great tent

I was very suspicious of a tent that didn't have solid poles and the whole air pitch idea. However, after taking this tent out for the last couple of months I have had no problems. This tent is easy to set up (following the directions are key, don't try and wing it your first time) and it with stood high winds and a downpoor with no leaks or problems. I've had upto 5 people in there with our gear and still had plenty of room.

I took this tent out this weekend with 5 of my friends and it was awesome. There was plenty of room and it was easy and fun (never had a tent that I pumped up before) to set up. I didn't have any of the problems that the other review mentioned and I think that this tent is great for a weekend get-away.

This was our first tent for camping with the family after years of experience with shock pole tents. We were attracted to the ease of setup feature of the airpoles and did not need extreme weather protection. Upon setup, we found the Mach 6 to be floppy and asymmetrical even after adjusting the stakeouts for some tension. The airpoles kinked on both sides at the same location close to the ground. A 5 minute sunshower of no particular intensity was enough to collapse one side of the canopy and soak our sleeping bags. This turned the interior into a sauna as the integrated rain fly prevents decent ventilation even with all the vents open. The tent stakes are of the lowest possible quality with sharp burrs from unfinished machine cuts on the end that is not meant to be pointy. Do not look for the pressure gauge that is present in the pictures/video or be fooled by the instruction not to inflate over 6psi. There is no pressure gauge included with this tent (or provision to use any type of standard gauge). Clips for the interior mesh panels are extremely difficult to latch/unlatch. When I called Product Support to ask for advice about the kinked airpoles issue, they asked 3 or 4 times if the tent was setup on an incline and then promised to have a Product Specialist contact me and possibly send the tent back to check for defects. Kelty never followed through with this contact. Presently, the Mach 6 collects dust in the garage. My 2 year old is getting some use out of the airpitch pump as a pretend fire extinguisher.
