Before we took the Sonic 6 out in the elements, I practiced setting it up at home. While it was a bit tricky in the beginning, once we understood how the tent is designed, set up and take down were very easy. We love the tent's spacious design and easy of setting up. We did not encounter bad weather yet. It is a bit annoying that the foot print of this tent has been out of stock for weeks now. One would think that Kelty can figure how many Sonic 6 tents are in storage to match the number of available foot prints. We would recommend this tent based on our experiences to date.

I took this tent to a 4 day music festival in Michigan in June. As long as you stake out the four corners of the tent before you try to inflate it, it goes up quick and easy. Due to space constraints, I was only able to stake out the floor and ground vents of the tent. Even so, I had no problem with the high winds I encountered the last two days. Walking through the campground, there were pole tents and canopies warped, broken, and tossed away everywhere. The sonic 6 just swayed a little. My only complaint with this tent is that it has insufficient ventilation.

We went camping for 2 days. Overall this is a great tent, but have an issue with one of the air poles deflating. We had to blow it up several times through out the 2 days we went camping. There was only two of us camping so it wasn't that bad. We just slept on the right side of the tent. We will put it up again and see if we can figure the problem out before we call Kelty. Hopefully it was a mishap on our end, but I really dont think so. Will keep you posted on that. Overall easy set-up and set down. Spacious.

I really wanted to love this tent. Pros - goes up quickly, tons of space and head room, take down is almost effortless and I didn't have any trouble getting everything back in the gear bag. Cons - Unfortunately, it doesn't hold up to the mildest of elements - light rain for a few hours one morning and on a different occasion a bit of intermittent wind. I am not talking heavy wind or torrential down pours, which I would not expect it to perform well with. The air poles fail under any amount of extra weight (a little wind or light rain). Unfortunately, I am stuck with a tent that is only useful when the weather is perfect (when the family and I would likely forgo a tent anyways, or simply keep the bugs out. Such a bummer. For the record, this is the first Kelty product that I have ever had any complaints with. My suggestion is stick with a good "old fashion" pole tent until they improve upon this design.

From the statement, " is this going up again?", to completion, this is an outstanding tent. Room to spare and the set up...we let me put it this way, there was a blonde involved and no mishaps! Rain....yeah, try again Heat...well, we had enough room to enjoy a couple fans so it was like a small tornado. The venting is well thought out. My only problem was that the door had two it took a bit to get used to opening the 2nd zip so we wouldn't stumble. A great tent...can't wait to see how it works in the cooler climates and seasons!

My kids now call this the 'Fun House'. I've never owned an inflatable tent before, and honestly, I thought it would be cheesy. It's not. Pros: 1. The poles are much more robust than I expected. They feel solid and don't look like they will puncture easily. 2. It does go up quickly. I had to have my son help me get it up the first time, but with practice I could do it on my own pretty easily. 3. Stands up well without being completely guyed out. 4. It's tall. Lots of headroom. My kids (up to age 14) can stand up in it, no problem. 5. Takedown is extremely fast. Unscrew 2 valves and it just falls right down. 6. Not a lot of parts to get lost or broken. 7. Kids love to play around inside of it. This is probably the best part. Cons: 1. No gear vestibule. This is not a big concern for me, since I'm only putting four in it, but 6 people plus gear for everyone might get cramped. 2. It would be nice if it had more windows/ventilation. 3. While it's tall height is a blessing, it could also be a curse in high winds. I'm not planning to take this thing to Longs, so I'm not expecting crazy weather, but if you expect winds then guy it down completely. And don't expect a tent with a high profile like this to hold up to 50 mph winds. 4. It takes down very quickly, but I had to really struggle to get it back in the bag. Would be nicer if it had a larger carrying case. Overall I think it's a killer deal if you pick it up on sale. Tons of fun for the kids on car camping trips, and a really good size for 4-5. Recommended.
