  1. Great for a group

Took three of these on a Boundary Waters trip with youth. The tents were roomy, and we liked the rainfly/stargazing options. Wished it was a little lighter, but a great tent overall. on Jul 27th 2018

  2. Great product

Great tent, loved the half fly. It provide a little bit of shade to keep you head under while still allowing the cool breeze to come in from the open half. on Jul 6th 2018

  3. 2 Week Road Trip - Car Camping

Used this as my tent for a road trip that lasted two weeks. This tent was set up at Devil's Lake, WI; Grand Tetons, WY; and Rifle, Colorado. The only real weather it faced was thunderstorms in the Tetons that did not last very long but no water ever made it inside of the tent.

The directions that are given with this tent are confusing and useless. It took me a bit of time to figure out the third pole (sadly). It would help if it just stated what the poles are for and omit the directions.

My only real complaint with the tent was the zipper on the rain flap, it constantly got stuck on the fabric causing it to jam. This was annoying when mosquitos are fighting their way into the tent. I cannot speak as to how well it does in high winds or winter conditions yet.

  4. Great car camping tent

Truly can't beat this tent as far as budget, ease of setup, and comfort goes. Great car camping tent and we fit 2 dogs, a kid and 2 adults with gear in here.

Can't go wrong with it. Had it for over 3 years.

  5. Great Tent

I have been on 6 treks in this tent and it has lived up to the Kelty name. Set up is an matter of 8 min, fits in a the med compression bag(maroon) with ease, and comes with an oversized bag for packing in a rush. Perfect fit for 2 to sleep comfortably along with the dog, and 2 packs. Double entry is clutch. I could go on and on about this tent. Buy one!... I assure you will not be disappointed. on Dec 13th 2016

  6. Great tent

    With years of experience camping:

    Easy setup
    Plenty of room
Two vestibules are great for storage
The rain fly completely encompasses the tent
    Tent peg design

Large bag size (not a backpacking tent)
Not lightweight (not a backpacking tent)
    Large rain fly reduces airflow

I don't know what caused the issue the other reviewer had with wind.
I've used this tent in high winds and rain; where it was difficult to keep balance while walking due to gusts. It was properly tied down and had no issues with the wind. Nothing was torn on the tent and the poles didn't crack or sound like they were cracking.

  7. 3rd Acadia destroyed in Moab

Nice fair weather tent, but the poles and rainfly cannot withstand any wind over 30mph without ripping or shattering poles on Mar 24th 2016

  8. Liked it

Did 2 nights at Death Valley over the weekend, nothing like camping on gravel and solid rock! The tent was awesome. I did have a challenge with the rain fly, but managed to get it all together and fastened securely. Must say the tent does sing with the wind but is very stable. on Mar 15th 2016

  9. Customer Review

This weekend was my first use. Overall I'm very satisfied. It did well during the mid 20 degree, heavy frost night. The inside surprisingly warmed up during the day due to a little sunshine. I bought if for the ease of set up, floor space and height - for which I'm satisfied. The most difficult part of set up is fitting the "roof" pole in the rainfly. Maybe there is an easier way to attach it than I figured out on the first try. I didn't find directions for assembly. Glad to also purchased the footprint as it just made everything easier although it was thinner than I expected. I'm hopeful the quality will last for many years to come. on Feb 7th 2016

  10. Customer Review

If I could have given this tent a ZERO star rating, I would have. I have had other Kelty tents for years with no problems, but just about everything that could go wrong with this tent has. My Boy Scout Troop bought 6 of these tents 2 years ago. We use them 1 weekend per month for 9 months each year and a one week-long summer camp. So far we have had to repair 2 rain flies, one tent body and one broken ridge pole. After our most recent camping trip, we now have one zipper near failing, 2 broken ridge pole shock cords and one broken main tent pole shock cord. DO NOT BUY THIS TENT. The famed Kelty quality is NOT present in this tent. Update: No upgrade in my rating. After another year with these tents, we have continued to have nothing but problems. More broken poles than I can count, failed zippers and torn rain flys at the tie out points (not reinforced). I have been a scout leader for 15 years and have used numerous tent brands. Our troop has used Coleman and Eureka tents over the past 35 years. While no tent can hold up for long against teenage boys, these Kelty tents have held up far worse than anything else we have used in the past. Not all Kelty tents are this bad. The Kelty Gunnison tent I have had for over 8 years is still in great shape. Buy that one instead. on Sep 3rd 2015
