  1. Lives up to expectations

Initial impressions admit I’ve only got to use the bag once on Independence pass for a back country slitboarding mission. Temps hit low 20s and I stayed perfectly warm all night. I can tell this bag is well made. Thanks Kelty! on May 8th 2018

  2. Unbelievably warm

Temps down below 0 on Mar 8th 2018

  3. Cosmic 0

I live in Alaska and am an avid outdoors-man. I hunt 30-60 days a year and hike all over the place. I also have more gear than i care to admit. That being said, so far on my first hunting trip the bag seems to due very well. I have other down bags that range in the $700+. They are better in a few areas. One they are lighter, my other 0 degree is 2 poundish, where this one is 4 poundsish. The other one "lofts" faster. That means when i take it out of the compression sack, full loft is achieved must faster.

That being said I am very happy so far with this bag. The weight is a down side, but it also has a much better outer shell that would stand up to the abuse i tend to put on gear. The lighter one I have I literally put a small tear in it just with just getting in it. And being that bag cost close to $500, a small tear hurt my pride. For less than half the cost, this bags seems to be well worth the money and then some. I would by another. I used it on a hunt with the temp around 40, and I was hot in it. It does loft slower, but once at full lost it about the same amount as my $500 one. I have more hunting to do and will reply once this season is over. if there are any negatives. I do have issues with the zipper not being silky smooth, but for half the cost, that is just nit picking. I would suggest they look at replacing that

  4. Phenomenal Bag

Great cold weather bag. Definitely stayed warm up in the mountains. I would recommend this bag to anyone doing treks at high elevation or in the late fall/winter.

Bag packs down to a manageable size, is easy to clean and maintains its shape well.

    Highly recommend.

  5. Stay warm

I have the Ignite o in an extra long size which I take to be an older model of the new product. I spend a lot of time outdoors and a reliable sleeping bag is a must. Even in the high deserts and mountains of the West down bags can be a proposition in the back country. No problems with the bag what so ever in three winters of heavy use.

I chose the larger size for my 6 ft height in order to have room for a few clothes folded in with me and the bag is still the most comfortable mummy I have ever used. When it is colder than usual the bag goes in a canvas bedroll made by a fellow in Durango, Colorado and I have been very comfortable even when all the water in camp was frozen solid overnight and most of the temps were around 0 to 10 degrees or so. The locking zipper makes multiple season use very easy.

A very good value for a very necessary piece of kit.

  6. 60 inch zip good for hammock camping also

I have an older model of the 0 degree Dry-down Cosmic that I use when camping with our Troop. I have recently started hammock camping with my Blackbird hammock (easier to LNT) and found that the 60inch long zipper on the Cosmic was great to get into (and out of) in the hammock. I found that (as with all hammocks) I was colder on the compressed bottom, but the top and sides remained very warm; and suitable insulation padding will fix the rest. You simply can not beat this down bag for the quality and price ... period. on Mar 21st 2017

  7. Wow It's Warm!

Last weekend I got to put this bag to the test. I went on a solo camping/skiing trip to Mammoth Mountain. I decided to tent camp at the local RV park to save a few bucks on lodging. They got dumped on by snow the night before, and the night I arrived, the temps were expected to reach 0 degrees. I pulled this bag out for the first night and it kept me toasty and warm, even down to my toes. The thermometer says it only reached 12 degrees that night, but still, it was way below freezing and I slept like a champ.

This bag is voluminous. It is quite large and fluffy when out of the stuff sack. I have a large mesh laundry bag that I keep it in for breathability and it fills up the whole thing. Despite this, the bag is able to compress down to a tiny size, considering the volume it has when it is laying out on its own. A Kelty stuff sack will get this into your backpack no problem. The materials are strong and durable. I was disappointed to see that the baffles around the edges are filled with synthetic insulation, rather than down, which fills the main body of the bag. Not a huge deal, but seems like a small corner to cut for a down bag as great as this. Reduces the packability in the end. Maybe they have to do this for rigidity or construction of the baffles? Could be.

I am 6'1" and have found the regular size to be just barely large enough to fit me. If you want space above 6 feet tall, I would go with the long version.

Overall a fantastic bag and I feel ready to tackle any winter adventure with this awesome Kelty.

  8. Superior Bag at a Head Turning Price

After several weeks of window shopping (and coming back to the Kelty repeatedly), I finally went for it. I just couldn't get over the price. After outings including high desert in the southwest in early February and the Rocky Mountains just after the thaw in June, I'll never leave home without it! As long as the climate calls for it, this is the "go to" bag. It packs down nicely, fits in the sleeping bag pocket of my pack, and the weight is quite manageable. Considering that most of the 0 degree bags that I looked at were in excess of $500, this one is unbelievable. Before you spend the money on a much more expensive bag, I highly recommend trying the Cosmic ) first. you won't be sorry. on Dec 20th 2016

  9. For years to come

I've owned this sleeping bag for the past 3 years, got it as a birthday present. I like to do winter camping up here in Michigan, where in the past years the winters have been drastically different; ranging from 20s all season to sometimes in the consistent negatives all season. The coldest I've slept in was a ridiculous overnight we that consisted of -28 degrees Fahrenheit (my friend said it got to -32, but I didn't see the proof). This bag has kept me warm in times of need. And to this day with handle and care, the bag still holds good loft and provides good insulation. This is a great investment for your money, and has a little more range in my mind for all season camping. This isn't the best winter bag on the market by far, but it manages to not go down without a fight. on Oct 6th 2016

  10. Need more specifications

I am looking for a low temp down sleeping bag but I need more information than you list.
What are the internal shoulder, hip and foot circumferance of this bag?
