  1. great tent - bad tent poles

used it twice before the tent poles began to split and splinter on Apr 1st 2018

  2. Broken pole after one use...

We purchased this tent last year and were in love with it the first time out. Tall enough to stand and change, nice large vestibule for shoes and backpacks, enough space inside for our baby's pack-n-play and a queen sized air mattress! What's not to love, we thought.

Well, one very significant thing. I took out the tent to check for holes and waterproof it after a year in storage in our closet (we store our camping gear indoors to avoid dry-rot, etc). I had just finished setting up when a gust of wind came through and flattened the tent and snapped a pole In all of my 28 years of camping I've never had a pole break. The section is completely splintered. I'm glad at least I was ahead of the game because we still have a month to either purchase new poles or maybe a new tent. For $250.00 I thought we had a good tent that would last us more than one camping trip. Severely disappointed.

  3. Beware the fly

The tent is made of nice durable material and generally gives a well crafted feel. The design on the fly however leaves much to be desired. You'll quickly learn to sharply tap upon the waterproof fly before you unzip it because the ridge protecting the zipper holds water and is conviently placed so that the water falls right into the tent. on Jun 24th 2016
