The classic Kelty Sunshade is back with a great new look. This unique three-legged structure features a moveable sidewall to block the sun from any direction. Three equal length fiberglass poles make set-up straightforward and effortless. Comes with a convenient backpack carry bag for trouble-free transportation. Whether you’re basking on a sandy beach, or catching some shade at the festival, we’ve got you covered (literally).
Got this guy as an alternate to an ez-up for a three day bike racing weekend. Few things for everyone. Much easier to pack and transport. Pole are very sturdy, but the elasto-cord holding them together blows, it’s not tight enough to keep the poles together when you set it up. Because the poles come apart the sleeves on mine are showing wear where the metal on the pole connection has pinched the nylon sleeve. Set-up requires two people especially with any amount of wind, thing turns into a kite quickly.
The biggest problem is how low the walls are, you can’t look out and see anything unless you are laying on a blankey or sitting in a crazy creek. If you like a comfy bag chair you want be able to see anything but the shade wall. This was a huge issue because we were trying to watch a bike race. It also gets wicked hot inside when in direct sunlight and even with a breeze. Could use some venting in the ceiling to let the heat escape.
It’s a nice compromise if you don’t want to lug around a gigantic ez-up, but doesn’t offer the view or ventilation.

Easy setup, I can set it up in under 5 minutes. Love the one wall you can move around. Tension on the poles was super tight and rigid. Nightfox on Jun 15th 2018
I've been a long time Kelty tent buyer, so when I needed a sunshade I did not look anywhere else. The tension on the poles were very loose and they kept coming apart making set up difficult. It took three adults to set up. The design is such that it does not let in the breeze and it was stifling in 80 degree temperatures. Unfortunately, no one used it as it was too hot. The one positive was it did stand up well to a 10 to 15 mph breeze. Unknown on Jun 1st 2018
Let me first start with this: practice putting this together in your yard before a destination set-up, like the woods or beach; it's easy, once you know the tricks of the trade, but you'll need some practice and it will save you some stress to already know the ins and outs of it.
We used this on the beach with our 10 month old and it was at least 10-15 degrees cooler under the cover than in the sun. It was 90 degrees with 80% humidity and we were not sweating under the shade!!! Totally worth the price! Bo on May 15th 2018
