The Trail Ridge is back and better than ever for 2016. With a long footprint, night light pockets, and the Stargazing Fly, the Trail Ridge is more like a palace than a tent. What hasn't changed is the livable space within the Trail Ridge. Near-vertical walls provide more chill space, while dual-doors offers convenient entry/exit without having to climb over your backpacking partner. Two vestibules provide convenient gear storage protected from the elements. The backpack-friendly compact folding poles and roll-top cube carry bag are sure to make this your favorite backpacking tent.

I just received the trailridge2 on Friday and set it up in my backyard to check it out and test it this weekend . I knew we would have some thunderstorms and rain sometime this weekend here in Virginia. Im 6ft1 about 215lbs and i was really amazed at the space inside this tent . I also am empressed with the attention to detail and design behind the tent as far as functionality. I have plenty of space to sit Indian style in the tent with room to spare with height and this tent has plenty of space for two people maybe 3 adult in close proximity to each other sleeping or enough room for 4 people to set a circle and play cards. I think because of The way that the rain fly Can roll back and the doors being low to the ground would make it very easy to be in your tent and cook you something to eat outside. It's great that the polls the webbing on the tent and rain fly are color coded. The tent is easy to set up it has Velcro strips underneath the rain fly to wrap around the tent poles and thoughtful toggles in loops to hold the vestibule doors open. It's nice that the footprint and triangle gear loft were included and nice green cord for guying out the tent. I think the only thing I would possibly improve on the next model upgrade would be raise the arc of the tent poles about 2 inches So that the tent door zipper and the wall below it arnt almost touching the ground . But I know that the tent is on the footprint and the rain fly Will keep the tent completely dry. We had a real good downpour here and the inside of the tent stayed bone dry. So overall I'm very impressed with the tent especially the space where I give them an A+ . To me the tent seemed a lot lighter than I expected so it should be a good option for backpacking I intend on testing it out real well this year. Thanks Kelty job well done. I bought this tent with the intent of using it for my self. Thinking generally a 2 person tent is a good size for 1 person and gear. But this tent can easily house two people and gear especially if you keep bags out under the vestibule. It is still very light weight and stores nicely. Unknown on Jul 19th 2016
We took out trail ridge 3 out this weekend and mother nature tried her best but we are dry and rested. amazing amount of wind and rain but our Kelty kept us dry. Very roomy for two people and gear. everything went together very quickly and without confusion due to the color coded system Kelty uses. Thanks Kelty for a great product. Love the tent so far. Easy to set up, and I love having the extra head room. It makes it so much more enjoyable having two people in there or even my dog. Rain fly kept all the rain out and tent has stayed comfortable. Can't wait to use it more and I'm definitely glad I picked the tent that I did. Brian on Jun 28th 2016
Very happy with the trail ridge 2!
It was very easy to set up, without reading the instructions? David Michael Colorez on Apr 26th 2016
The trailridge 2 would be the perfect tent for my daughter & I to hike the App trail except it doesn't offer the ability to set up the poles & fly 1st & then the tent body inside (free fly setup). This allows for keeping the inside of the tent dry while setting up in a rain storm. I hope Kelty will add this option to make this a near perfect backpack tent. Jim Leonhardt on Mar 22nd 2016
