  1. Unfortunately it did not come close to meeting it's temperature rating

I just completed a 2 week trip along the John Muir Trail with the Tuck 20. Temperatures at night never reached below 40 degrees but I was cold the entire trip. After the first night I started to layer-up until by the end of the trip I was literally wearing every layer I had to stay warm.
I contacted Kelty at the end of my trip and after sending a few pics to them they said the fill appeared to be fine. Because the bag was purchased over 30 days ago they said they could not warranty or credit my purchase towards a higher end 20 degree bag. I'm very disappointed in the product and response from Kelty given I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years.
While the Tuck 20 has some great features, which originally attracted me to it, I would not recommend it for anyone doing any real camping.

  2. Very nice bag!

I also bought this bag for a trip to Philmont (near Cimarron, NM) on 7/31 - 8/11, 2017. We camped anywhere from 4,500 ft to 9,800 ft and this bag was very warm, almost too warm for me so I loved the zipper at the bottom to stick your feet out. It came in handy when needing to warm up after being rained and hailed on several times.
The bag also compressed nicely for fitting into backpack.

  3. GREAT SLEEPING BAG!!

I ordered two of the Tuck 22 sleeping bags for my son and I, for our hiking trip at Philmont Scout Reservation, in New Mexico. Itinerary 24 July 8-19. These sleeping bags are great. Temps at night would get down between 40-50s. These sleeping bags were warm, even after it rained all day with a little hail, temps dropped that night and we were still able to stay warm.

The sleeping bag is light enough and fits perfect in my Kelty Red Coud 90 back pack. The zipper does stick a little when zipping closed, but nothing really bad. I'd highly recommend this sleeping bag to anyone, including scouts going to Philmont.

  5. Great Bag, I would definitely recommend!

I bought this bag for a two week back packing trek in Philmont in Cimarron, New Mexico. I am going to tell you that is worked great and even dried out relatively fast when we had to hike through storms. The weather was crazy cold for middle of summer in New Mexico. It was around 35 degrees Fahrenheit for a few of the nights and I was very warm and toasty. On the other hand, I went camping a few nights ago and it got down well below 15 degrees Fahrenheit and I was cold, but not to the point I couldn't sleep. Overall this is a great bag for the price! I would definitely recommend it! on Feb 8th 2017

  6. Customer Review

First, let me say I really do like this bag. Its roomy and comfortable (I am 5'7 and used a regular bag), and for synthetic not huge. BUT it did not keep me warm to the temperatures it was rated for. As a female, I didn't expect it to keep to the EN 22, which is a rating for men, but I did expect it to keep me warm to at least the low 30's. I took it out on a 3 night backpacking trip in the Great Smoky Mountains in late November, and we had some pretty cold nights (mid 20's to mid 30's). I was cold, even with all my layers on, and ended up using my boyfriend's extra 40 degree down bag inside of this one... I was pretty roasty with that and woke up sweating. I used the thermarest zlite sol as my sleeping pad. Bottom line: I am keeping this bag, but wont backpack with it and wont take it out in temperatures lower than about 39/40. on Nov 25th 2015

  7. Customer Review

This was a great bag I have gotten into hammocking and the other bag I used was a little too big so I thought I would check one of these out used it, loved it. I stayed warm all night. One of my biggest complaints about other mummy style bags is not having enough room for my feet. You just unzip this bad boy and voila no compresso los feeto! I liked it alot. on Jun 8th 2015

  8. Customer Review

Got this bag for a annual trip with friends in march and around here its still in the 30to 20 degrees I usually freez my but off but not this time it was in the high 20s the hole trip and I was toasty warm the bag was vary well made love the zip at the bottom that u can hang your feet out of paired with a kelty bag liner u will never be cold again on Mar 30th 2015

  9. Customer Review

Got this bag last week. Better than expected(and I am not easily impressed). Used it on the first night on my Neoair Trekker pad with a shirt and pants on. It got down to 36F, but I still had to unzip it. Before I got in the bag my feet got wet and I had to take my socks off. They usually take a long time to heat back up, but within 10 minutes they were warm. VERY compressible, weighed the regular bag on a digital scale at 2lbs 13ozs. My compression sack gets it down to 7x10. The ONLY reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is the stitching. It was frayed in several places and has pieces hanging in several spots. Other than that this is a SUPER value of a sleeping bag. Will definately recommend it to others. For the price/weight/features/compression, this is a great value! on Feb 5th 2015
