I am a motorcycle camper. Like backpacking weight and size makes a huge diffence packing for a adventure on the bike. After reading excellent reviews concerning the gunnison 3.1 I purchased mine replacing a grand masa for 2. When going to motorcycle events like Sturgis, I needed more storage space then the grand mesa 2 offered. I got that and more with the gunnison 3.1. When the wind blow, a storm came in camping along the north shore here in Minnesota, I stayed nice and dry in my gunnison 3.1. I was very pleased with the grand mesa 2. Both my Kelty tents are well worth looking into. Cost verses quality is wonderful. I am currently checking out the gunnison 2.1 pro. a dear freind who like me woman and 60 is talking about a kayak adventure that a pro tent may be needed. Would I be checking this tent out if I was not super pleased with my gunnison 3.1? I think you all get the picture so to speak. Kelty keep making tents we can rely on.

I got this tent for a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch. This tent fit two full size men very comfortable, we used this tent for twelve days, and through four bad thunder storms. The tent never leaked at all and always kept us dry, the only rain to come in was from bouncing off the ground under the rain fly and splattering and though the mesh and this was very slight and in a very heavy thunder storm. We split the poles, pegs and rain fly for one person, and the tent and ground cloth for the other, so we each were only carrying around 3.4 pounds. This worked great. Set up is very quick and easy, less than thee minuets if needed. The only hard thing about this tent was the snap at the end of the rain fly, wish the zipper just went all the way down, but always kept the boots and other equipment dry. Has a fairly large vestibule area on each side.
I would highly recommend this tent to anyone.
