  1. Ozark Highland trail

Bought this bag for a backpacking trip in Arkansas this Thanksgiving (2017), and to replace my old cosmic 20. The temperatures at night ranged from 27-35. The first night was the coldest and sleeping in a hammock the 27 F can feel much colder, but this bag with my eno ember underquilt kept me toasty!

If you pair this bag with the right equipment (sleeping bag liners, underquilts, etc) you can stretch the temperature rating further then listed
    on Nov 25th 2017

  2. Comphy and Warm

I'm tall for a girl 5'8", so I bought this bag because I wanted a little more room. I was a bit concerned it said "men's warmth". Nighttime temperatures dropped pretty low at the high elevation I was at. There was one point I got pretty cold, but I zipped up the bag completely, snug around my face, and warmed up quick. I also slept with my clothes on, which may have helped. It's lightweight and easy to stuff inside it's bag. It fits great inside my Kelty backpack as well. Kept me warm and I had plenty of room. Snug as a bug! on Aug 23rd 2017

  3. Economical light weight bag

Just finished 27 miles on the PCT using an Ultimate Direction 30L pack and the Cosmic 20 packed into a compression bag. While still the largest consumer of space in my pack, the sleeping bag is still light and warm. I use a hammock to sleep in and many bags struggle to not lose warm without extra padding, this bag did just fine. Note that it was warm 91 deg high 55 low. Any temps below 50 I will likely use a sleeping pad for insulation. on Aug 12th 2017

  4. So far so good

I took this on a backpack trip to a lake at 8300ft in Idaho 2 weekends ago and it performed great. I actually got a little too warm at one point. I think the temperature got down to about 30 degrees outside at the coldest. I think it would keep me warm to 20 degrees. Would be nice to have a stuff sack that compressed it a little better and didn't feel so cheap as a previous reviewer noted but all in all pleased with this bag so far. It replaced a lafuma warm n lite down sleeping bag that was rated to 30 degrees. I ordered the regular and at 6' tall was worried I would be maxing it out but it was perfect fit and I'm now glad I didn't get the tall version. on Jul 3rd 2017

  5. Good bag - stuff sack included is useless

Bag compacts down well and is good for backpacking. I had it in 40 degree weather this weekend, don't think it would keep you comfortable in 20 degrees. The stuff sack is really thin and cheap, the pull cord doesn't hold at all, pretty much useless. on Jun 25th 2017

  6. Great bag, with one major flaw

Warm, affordable, dry, durable (albeit the zipper) and easy to care for, however the zipper is a major issue. Had this bag for 2 years used it hard for 6 months on a Type 1 Hotshot crew, fabric held up great, doesn't wet out, and warm right down to the EN value. Just wish the zipper was of the same quality as the bag. Snags very easily and now I'm laying in my tent on a cold end of March night on the Lassen in a bag that doesn't zip cause the zipper fell off. She's had a short but hard life I suppose. I didn't pay full price for the bag and even if I had it still is a good deal, just mind your zipper. on Mar 28th 2017

  7. Fantastic Sleeping Bag

I just purchased this bag - I am 5'3" and it fits perfectly with room to spare! My husband and I backpacked to San Gorgonio Moutain and set up camp at High Creek Camp. The temperature was about 49-51 degrees and the sleeping bag kept me Toasty! It was comfortable and surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend. on Aug 1st 2016

  8. Good Bag but Weight Spec Wrong

For the price, there might not be a better bag.

I purchased the 2016 Cosmic 20 Long Model.
    "Size Long:
    Fits to: 6 ft 6 in / 198 cm
    Fill weight: 25 oz / .709 kg
    Total weight: 2 lbs 13 oz / 1.276 kg"

The specs are not accurate. Total weight on the packaging and attached bag tag reads 3.1lbs. I placed the bag, sans stuff sack on a scale and 3.1 was correct.

If you do purchase this bag. please keep this discrepancy in mind. I don't know if the other sizes are accurate. Someone else will have to check the weights of the Short and Regular.

  9. Great sleeping bag

The cosmic 20 sleeping bag is a very good price and offers great warmth. I would recommend to anyone needing a new sleeping bag. The lifetime warranty is a huge plus, too. on Jun 29th 2016

  10. Great value, good wt, bit bulky.

For the cost, it's hard to beat. Roomy and if the rating is accurate, warm for its weight. Water repellant down at this price?! Pretty great. It is somewhat bulky and the stuff sack makes it nearly as small as possible. Not quite as light as my 800 fill bag and a bit bulkier, but at $200 cheaper, not unexpected. on Jun 15th 2016
