Overall, it's a good tent. Sets up and tears down easily. We stayed dry when it rained. My only issue was the amount of condensation on the inside after a night with the rain fly closed. Seems like a vent near the top could fix that easily though. If you're looking for a good tent though, the tn3 is a good choice. E on Aug 14th 2017
Apart from the obvious name check and resulting high quality you get with this tent, there is one critically important spec with this tent that no other major manufacturer has appeared to crack. That spec is the 14" packed tent pole.
A friend of mine and I took up a 200 mile trek by bike. Part of the experience was camping while on the journey. Space and weight were the major considerations, of course. While other tents may have been lighter, the tent poles never fell below 16". The TN3 had us covered and it was easily packed away in the frame bag.
In all, the TN3 slept the two of us with only enough space for our gear in the tent. I'm a slighter guy than my buddy, and the two of us didn't have much extra space once our backpacks and drybags were inside. Sleeping three people in this tent might be a bit of stretch, depending on your build. Slim on Jun 16th 2017
I'm with the other reviewers on this one... this tent is Awesome, yes... but for a tall person like myself.. well, that's where it gets a little less awesome. Laying down flat I'm touching both walls, which is kind of annoying. So if you're going to make one thing Awesome this year.. please make it longer, that is all. Other than that.. great tent.. seriously!! Brandon on Jan 22nd 2017
Tent capacities are always kind of a joke and this definitely the case here. I absolutely love this tent but just for 1 person. I'm 6' tall, 210 lbs and there is plenty of room for me and my gear. No gear, maybe a small second person max.
Tent goes up in a snap. Folds relatively easily and has decent head room for a trail tent. Dan on Nov 27th 2016
Great for small people.. not as great for tall people!! I get that you're trying to shave weight and all, but I would gladly haul some extra ounces if it gave me another 6-7" of headroom. So... 2017... you know what to do. Thanks!! Unknown on Jun 9th 2016
Purchased this tent over the winter for a few bike camping trips. The last time I camped out was in the late 80s. My first test run at setting up went smooth and the second and the actual trip. I like how the tent clips to the poles but the tiny velcro tabs on the fly are annoying. A little patience with the fly door zipper cover is required. Used 4 s-biners to connect guy lines to tent, tension clip at stake end. Gear storage under one fly door fit panniers, trunk and bar bag without blocking access. At 25F I woke up with ice on the mesh above my head. Just a little condensation under the fly with doors closed and vents open. I'm happy with it.
That top center clip will get me every time.

Zipper to the fly broke the very first time we used it. Poor made. Robin on Jan 5th 2016
Perfect except for one than or 85" length makes it a one person tent for me. I'm 6'4" and and have to sleep diagonal in the tent. Otherwise I just don't fit. PLEASE make this otherwise awesome tent longer. Aaro on Nov 29th 2015
Let me start of by telling you that this is probably the best tent I've ever owned. The build quality is superb and blows all other tents out of the water! Even the poles are something from the future the way they snap into place with such ease. It's a little tight for 3 people I'll admit, but it is doable. I consider more of a spacious tent for 2. The starlight feature is amazing and by far the best thing about this tent! My only gripe.. and this is my only gripe with this tent.. is that it is not perfectly suited to the tall traveler such as myself. I'm 6'3" and I'm head to toes touching both walls. While I can still manage inside, I kind of have to sleep at an angle to fit in there properly. Also one more... I wish this tent had come with a gear loft like my other Kelty tent, but other than those 2 things this tent is Awesome!!! Anyways to Kelty... Please make this tent a little longer (88"-90" preferably) next year and throw in a gear loft and I will gladly buy this tent again. Thanks!! Chad on Sep 16th 2015
BELIEVE THE HYPE! I am from Colorado Springs and have used it here and all over the country in the summer that I have used it. I have put this "bad larry" through the wringer. I have used this tent in tons of places from Shenandoah Valley, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, The Crags on Pikes Peak, Badlands and Petoskey State Park. This tent is easy to set up, hold up to the elements and is as tough as it is cool looking. Thomas on Aug 18th 2014
